Cognitive Assessments

At Level One Psychology we conduct cognitive, achievement, language, and neuropsychological assessments.  We offer iPad-based assessments, providing a more interactive and flexible way to conduct assessments compared to traditional paper-based methods.

We assess the following:

 

  • Adult intelligence - cognitive ability in adults.

  • Child intelligence - cognitive functioning in children, commonly used for diagnosing learning disabilities or intellectual giftedness.

  • Preschool intelligence - cognitive abilities in young children, often used for early identification of developmental delays or giftedness.

  • Academic achievement - reading, writing, math, and oral language skills, often used in educational planning and diagnosing learning disorders.

  • Academic skills - academic strengths and weaknesses, frequently used for identifying learning disabilities and educational interventions.

  • Memory function - different types of memory, commonly used in neuropsychological assessments for brain injury or dementia.

  • Language skills - receptive and expressive language abilities, used to diagnose language disorders in children and young adults.

  • Verbal memory - verbal learning and memory strategies, often used in neuropsychological evaluations for cognitive impairments.

  • Child verbal memory - verbal memory in children, used for identifying learning and memory difficulties.

  • Speech articulation - speech sound production, used in diagnosing articulation and phonological disorders in children and adolescents.

 

All assessments include a formal report (which is suitable for NDIS purposes) and a feedback session to discuss results.
