Dr Sharon Atkin - Starting December 1 at Caloundra!
BA(Hons) PhD(Psych) MAPS
Sharon has practiced as a psychologist for over 20 years. During this time she has worked with people across a range of issues and contexts. Sharon has extensive experience in the areas of trauma, women’s health, mood and anxiety disorders, domestic violence, and sexual abuse and assault. Her PhD thesis was related to family conflict and adjustment.
Sharon has managed a range of community programs, including several years managing a number of clinical and family programs. She has substantial experience in providing Employee Assistance as well as developing and delivering training.
Sharon has been involved in the development of models of practice aimed at best addressing the needs of individuals and enhancing their abilities and coping skills. She has a strong practice and research background and a commitment to combining research and practice with a focus on articulated models of practice and measurable outcomes. Her approach is person-centred and she utilises a number of approaches including CBT.

Dr Sharon Atkin has completed a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) degree with Honours, and a Doctor of Philosophy (Psychology) at the University of Queensland. She holds full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA) and is a Member of the Australian Psychological Association (APS).
