Mercia is a Clinical Psychologist with experience working with clients of various age groups, including adolescents, adults and older adults, as well as those from diverse cultural backgrounds. She has worked in not-for-profit and government settings, with a broad range of presenting problems, including depression, anxiety, trauma, and grief and loss.
Mercia has a special interest in working with chronic physical health conditions, including diabetes, cardiovascular disease, COPD, and progressive conditions, with significant experience working within a health setting, including in hospitals and chronic conditions.
She is passionate about supporting people where there is a psychological component to the self-management of their health, such as adjusting to a chronic condition diagnosis, or making and sustaining behaviour change for the benefit of their health.
Mercia has training and experience working with evidence-based interventions, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Mindfulness-Based interventions. She is a warm and engaging therapist who takes a person-centred approach, enabling clients to feel empowered throughout the therapeutic process.

Mercia has completed a Bachelor of Psychology (1st Class Honours), and a Master of Psychology (Clinical). She holds general registration with the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA) with endorsement as a Clinical Psychologist and is a PsyBA-approved Supervisor. Mercia is a Member of the Australian Psychological Association (APS), and a Fellow of the APS College of Clinical Psychologists.
